Moderator: Megan Hyman
DJCF President & CEO, Megan Hyman, will moderate a discussion on philanthropy and charitable legacy with fundholders Jaynie Schultz and Beverly and Cary Rossel. Each is a committed philanthropist with extensive involvement in the nonprofit community. Their work has included building partnerships with numerous nonprofit organizations, promoting philanthropy across generations and crafting meaningful charitable legacies.
Jaynie is an innovator and entrepreneur in public service, business and philanthropy. Her community service career begain in 1988 with the Texas Women’s Foundation. She helped create the CityLab High School Foundation and is currently building the international STEAM Academy Foundation. Jaynie and her husband have four children and serve as the American home family to sons of CNN Hero nominee, Dr. Rick Hodes of Addis Ababa, Ethopia.
Beverly and Cary’s philanthropic dedication has always played a significant part of their lives. Cary has served as Board Chair for both the Legacy Senior Communities and the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (DJCF), He has also served on the boards of Jewish Family Service (JFS), Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, and Temple Emanu-El. Beverly has served as President of the evening chapter of Organization for Rehabilitation and Training, an Israel-based nonprofit. Beverly now serves on the board of CHAI (Community Homes for Adults, Inc.). Beverly was recently honored by JFS as one of the founders of JFS’s “Diaper Drive,” which has collected over 1.5 million diapers, distributed to those in need though the JFS’s food pantry.Beverley and Cary also have several funds at DJCF to support organizations and causes they love – both now and in perpetuity. Between their donor-advised, endowment, and scholarship funds, the Rossels have, and will continue to have, an important impact on the nonprofit organizations they support.
